High Bentham - King Street

The photograph on the right shows where we lived. King Street - 3 up & 2 down with an outside loo. We had Lunesdale Farmers lorries backing up to the platform (on the left of the picture) all day. This photograph was taken in 1992. The warehouse had become a Freezer Centre. The house is modernised and aptly named Budget Cottage. The small photograph below was taken in 2001. The Freezer Centre has gone and the awning with it. The old barn in the background seems to have been converted into accommodation.

The photograph on the left shows King Street in 2006. The old warehouse has been totally revamped and re-equipped for the Looking Well project. The canopy and ramp are gone, the cobbles are tarmac-ed over.
