George is great at sketching, having accuracy, delicacy of line and fine sense of shading. He is trying to use this skill to good advantage with watercolours.
Margaret likes painting flowers greetings card style. She uses delicate brushwork from a palette of colours
Enid is willing to have a go at most things - flowers, buildings, landscapes.
I prefer copywork of christian themes and symbols rather than flowers or landscapes, but am willing to try anything including more recently some portraiture!
Of all the group's members Margaret's work has improved the most over the months. She is showing good skill in composition, paint techniques, and colour sense
Pat is another member of the group who enjoys painting flowers.
Henry never liked art at school. His interest in watercolours developed as a result of watching daytime TV watercolour programmes when he was ill over many months. Most of his paintings show good promise.
Noreen has a passion every now and again for elephants! Semi-retirement is offering a chance to improve her painting.
Bill is full of enthusiasm for his work and is coming along with great strides
Just over ninety years of age but such splendid artwork. All her pictures have a great sense of movement.
One of our youngest members, Camille has shown great promise.
And here is our youngest member, just eight years old.
Chris has the skill that will come with persistence and practice.
Since joining the art group Janet has carefully applied herself to painting some very satisfying pictures.
Betty is one of the more accomplished and dedicated members of our group showing mastery of most techniques. She says that all she wants to do is to paint the effect of space in landscapes.
We regret to say Betty died on Sunday January 27th 2002.
We shall miss her cheerful and kindly help within the Art Group
